Samantha: The Gift (American Girl®)

In 1904, Samantha, a wealthy orphan, is being raised by her grandmother to be a proper young lady with all the luxuries life can offer. Despite all this privilege, Samantha finds herself feeling lonely. One day, her Uncle Gard pays a visit along with his friend, Miss Cornelia Pitt, who brings a special gift for Samantha. Unfortunately, the visit does not go smoothly.

Adding to Samantha's troubles is the fact that she is not allowed to play with Nellie, the girl who lives next door, simply because Nellie is a servant. Frustrated by this unfair rule, Samantha takes it upon herself to teach Nellie how to read.
